TURKEY στο MISC ATHENS
Το φωτογραφικό βιβλίο Cold Turkey παρουσιάστηκε για πρώτη φορά στις 29 Ιανουαρίου 2022 στον καλλιτεχνικό χώρο MISC Athens, με καλεσμένους τον δημοσιογράφο Ματθαίο Τσιμιτάκη και τον εικαστικό-κινηματογραφιστή Georges Salameh.
«Είναι ένας επίπονος δρόμος. Η αίσθηση του κενού σε κατακλύζει. Χάνεις την αίσθηση της βαρύτητας. Κολυμπάς στα τυφλά. Αναδύεσαι σε ένα απόκοσμο κατάφωτο μέρος.» - Στεφανία Ορφανίδου
Οι συμβολικοί «τόποι» που εξερευνά κανείς στη διαδικασία της απεξάρτησης, η αίσθηση της διαρκούς εγρήγορσης και της αναμονής«αυτού του ενός και μοναδικού πράγματος που θα επεκτείνει τη ζωή πέρα από τα όρια», όπως γράφει ο Ρ.Μ.Ρίλκε, εγγράφονται σε μια ανθολογία από εικόνες ανοιχτές σε ερμηνείες.- Ματθαίος Τσιμιτάκης
Με αφορμή το βιβλίο, πραγματοποιήθηκε μια ανοιχτή συζήτηση πάνω στα διαφορετικά επίπεδα της εμπειρίας του εθισμού και της περιπέτειας της απεξάρτησης από αυτόν. Μέσα από την εξιστόρηση προσωπικών βιωμάτων, προσεγγίσαμε τη σχέση της εξάρτησης με το πένθος, την πορεία προς τη λύτρωση, την εξορία από το φαντασιακό.

The new photographic book Cold Turkey was presented for the first time at 29 January 2022 at the art space MISC Athens, with the journalist Matthaios Tsimitakis and the visual artist - cinematographer Georges Salameh.
« It is an arduous path. The sense of void is overwhelming. You lose the sense of gravity. Υou swim in the blind. You reemerge into an eerie luminous place. » - Stefania Orfanidou
The symbolic "places" that one explores in the process of detoxification, the sense of constant alertness and waiting for "for that one thing that will infinitely enlarge your life", as R.M.Rilke writes, are inscribed in an anthology of images open to interpretation. - Matthaios Tsimitakis
On the occasion of the new photographic book, Cold Turkey, an open discussion took take place on the different levels of the experience of addiction and the adventure of rehabilitation from it. Through the narration of personal experiences, we approached the relationship between addiction and grief, the path to redemption, the exile from the imaginary.
