work in progress
The urban and natural landscape carries on its body signs, anthropogenic interventions that intrigue the imagination, and arise questions about the memory of a forgotten past. The mind imagines the passage of time and the inevitability of collapse. Without any trace of life, inert substance gives the impression of a suspended condition. Unfinished buildings, abandoned mines, materials subtracted from the bowels of the earth, fragments that create a new territory, a landscape of absence. Places of doubt and deficiency, between the state of being and not being, they constitute a strange collaboration between human and physical intervention. Their discovery by the gaze of the wanderer cannot retrieve forgotten memories, however, it can inscribe on their body new memories, redefine what stands there hushed, waiting for a gaze, an interest, a breath of life.
